Javier Vazquez - S - New York Yankees Jan 5

Yankees signed RHP Javier Vazquez to a four-year, $45 million contract.
Vazquez gets a $2 million signing bonus, $8.5 million next season, $10.5 million in 2005, $11.5 million in 2006 and $12.5 million in 2007. It looks like the Yankees overpaid slightly here, but if Vazquez stays healthy, he's worth $11 million per season.

to be honest, i havent seen him pitch...is he really as good as the yankees think?

He is young...and can be inconsistent.....but he has alot of talent...as long as he doesn't fall to the pressure of the NY spot light...he will be very good..... :-)

Man, other than that one start, Vaz has looked very nice in a Yankee uniform. Let's hope they trade him to the Mets.

How old is he anyway? I'm thinking 26, but I could be wrong.
