Harang Hurt? Bailey?

Postby thehotcorner » Thu Apr 19, 2007 6:04 pm

Harang apparently tweaked his back in todays game. Any ppl in Cincy have any other info on this? Would Bailey be the one to be called up in case Harang actually has to take a trip to the DL.

http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/re ... lineup.asp

Heard Doc say last night on Extra Innings that Aaron Harang tweaked his back catching a throw to the mound from David Ross. Harang said Thursday afternoon that was not the case. "I was tired from throwing so many pitches in the fourth and fifth (innings)," said Harang Thursday. "I went to Jerry and told him it would be best (that I come out) because the bullpen had been so good." Found out today that came from someone who would know. Don't know why the Reds didn't reveal that. Asked Jerry Narron if Harang was OK after the game last night. He gave the "situation of game dictated it" answer.

Harang came out of the game after six innings last night because he had a touch of the flu. He had thrown 101 pitches and didn't think he could go any further. They interviewed him before the game tonight.

Even if this were the case, I'm pretty sure Bailey wouldn't be called up. Livingson and EZ Ramirez will get the call before him (not to mention Saarloos to the rotation).

I honestly don't think Homer thorws a single pitch in the majors this year.

Maybe not the farm, but go ahead and bet the cow or pig if you'd like.

Personally, good for Harang for asking out. Too many pitchers would have pitched through the pain and caused more damage to their team and to their careers.

I'm pretty sure that you'll see him around June. ;)
