I for one think he'll be a more-than-servicable pitcher to have on your fantasy squad.
Has he been a bit hit-lucky? Yes. But by the same token, he pitches in a great park and he's got a great defense behind him. The Ws are going to suffer, but the Ks, the WHIP, and the ERA should all be above-average.
And BBs aren't as big of an issue as they seem on first blush: he collected nearly 1/3 of his walks this year on his first start, where he allowed 6 walks and 4 ERs on 3.2 IP. Since then? 6 of 7 quality starts, and that 7th was a 6-inning/4ER outing against the Cubbies.
Great park + great defense + NL + Ks = better than your #6 starter.

Definitely, I've been an Expos fan for some time now, and he was never thought to be very good.
He'll be good in spot start opps. Last night shouldn't have been one of those, but even a blind squirrel, right?
He has nice value in my league because he qualifies as a reliever, too.
Shame I didn't start him this week.
last night wasn't it, Atlanta was a top 3 OPS team in the NL. Bergmann's last 2 starts has been so so, who would have though.
His last start before last night he gave up 2 hits & 1 run through 6 innings....didn't get the Win, but you're not expecting that from a Nats pitcher. I'll take that era and whip every week - doesn't sound so-so to me at all.

I play in a very deep league, and injuries had me pick him up a while ago. I've had him active for his last 5 starts, and he'll be active for me until he gives me a reason not to. He's doing a nice job keeping the ball down and he's only walked more than 2 once in his last 6 starts. He was pretty good in the minors during 2005 and 2006 too.
I don't expect him to continue giving up hits at the rate he is, but even if he gives up more hits, he's still got a shot at being a more than servicable starting pitcher no matter how many wins he gets.
My league is a points league, and as of today he's 42nd overall among all starting and relief pitchers.
