The commissioner in my main league got out this year, and I took over as commish. In thanks, he gave me a few sleepers he thought were good values, and Johnson was one of them.
Keep in mind, this guy was a fantasy guru. He won the league something like six years straight. His core of keepers was Pujols, Reyes and Guerrero, and he had them all early when they broke out.
So far, his streak is intact, and I have Kelly Johnson as a $1 backup to Chase Utley. Hey, at least he isn't on someone else's team.

Did he mention any other sleepers?
Hehe, I knew you would ask. He was mostly pointing toward good values in our salary cap for me.
He did think everyone was overly pessimistic on Pedro Martinez and thought he was a good value for a half-season. I like what I'm reading on the Pedro front, too.

I don't really see anything spectacular in his minor league #'s, except for that he actually had a pertty high strikeout rate throughout his minor league career and his short stint with the big club in 05. Great start, only time will tell if he can keep it up.
I picked him up last week as a back up and to play on my regulars' off days. More than anything I'm hoping he can keep it up for another 3-4 weeks so I can sell him high. I think he will come back to earth and be pretty mediocore as the season goes on..... ride the streak but don't expect season long success, I just don't see it.

...IMHO.
Dare I ask... why?
