Well hes finally arrived & didnt embarrass himself against the crafty vet Maddox today.

This very good prospect was tearing it up in AAA ball, hitting .444 through 11 games with 16 runs scored, one homer, one steal, and a .543 on-base percentage. The 22-year-old centerfielder is the best hitting prospect in the Cubs system. The left-handed Pie comes with respectable power (33 doubles and 15 HR at Iowa last season) and speed (17 steals and eight triples).
Just traded BButler, BWood & JLoney for Mark Teixeira, Ryan Theriot & Renyel Pinto in a DYNASTY LEAGUE. Big gamble I know!

He threw a runner out at the plate today. He immediately becomes the Cubs best defensive outfielder (not saying much) but the real question is will he continue to play when Soriano gets back in the lineup?

Gut feeling, Pie stays in center and Soriano moves to LF...

Pie's defense is too good to send him down if he is hitting even decently.

I think he stays in CF, and Soriano moves to a corner spot.

He has about 4 more games to impress Big Lou enough to gain a semi-permanent spot on the team. If he's not going to play 4 out of 5 games, he's going to get sent down to Triple A to keep developing.

Can we see more than 1 game before we crown him King CF and start moving people?

Part of the reason Soriano came to the Cubs was becuase they somewhat promised him they wouldn't move him around during the season. Obviously, nothing is concrete, but I hardly think a couple good games from Pie will send the gameplan down the drain.

Now if Pie plays well, Soriano has continuing hammy probelms, Murton/Floyd don't work out and their record is 10-20 in a few weeks, then we'll see.
