I had Dye and I traded him for Bay which I think is a good deal for me. Got Roberts off FA to add to my speed with Reyes and Hanley. I have been putting Hanley out there for people, but really being careful to not sell him too early....as I think his value will increase with time. Any help is appreciated.
I was going to work out A-Rod for Reyes but due to A-Rods fast start, the guy said he is no longer interested. I really would love to get a good 3B for Hanley, but I am having a hard time getting proper value so far.
What 3B are on the WW? Seems like 3B shouldn't kill you if you can't get value for Hanley. Glaus isn't out too long, right? So, maybe the team as is is set.
Nobody that great on the WW. Considering just hanging onto Hanley and letting his stock rise, and then dish him out for a 3B. Interested in Aram, but that owner isn't budging.. he wants alot for him.
I should have taken the Reyes\A-Rod trade when I could have a week ago, but I was scared to pull the trigger. I think my power numbers should be decent without him.. but we will have to wait and see.
At the very least, I hang onto Hanley, and keep him as trade bait as I think his value will only go up from here once he heats up, and teams get desperate for some numbers.
Glaus is on the fifteen day DL as far as I know, but I def. expect this guy to miss some time this year which is fine. Chavez is doing better than I thought he would filling in, so I'm a happy boy.
What do you guys think my team weaknesses are? I think pitching is a problem, especially with Webb\Zombrano doing awful so far this year. I am trying to get Beckett but his asking price is outrageously high, the guy is a moron. Any tips appreciated.
i think webb will def come around soon, so i wouldnt worry about him and from what i hear gluas isnt expect to miss much more than the 15 days so i would hold on to hanley nd look for a solid pitcher
I like the look of your team right now. I agree to hold on for now with Han Ram. Let the dust settle around your league then shop around for a top line SP or 3B. Thanks for the answer on my question.
Yeah, I suppose that is the plan for now because I can't get jack for value off Hanley right now anyhow. I jokingly offered up Hanley Ramirez to another manager for his Manny Ramirez, and he laughed...this was when Manny was well above 600...he didn't want to trade him for a top eight player. So sometimes, you are dealing with people who like big namers, power hitters, HR, RBIs, and only when they realize their team lacks a few categories will they make a move.
I think Hanley should yield an ace later in the season. Either that or I can go for the 2-1 with him if he stays top ten. Get two top sixty players who aren't injury prone...make my team deeper.
