Though his strikeouts were low, it was a very good outing for the first trip back from the DL. I think this guy is focused and valuable this year because it's a contract year for him. He's 33 years old and this year could be one of his few good chances left for a big fat pay day.

why wouldnt he be "serviceable"? im one of the guys that says the cy young year was sort of bogus. he wasnt dominating by any means, he was just the best pitcher or a very good team and racked up some wins. he wont k 200 batters for you but he will give you a lot of innings and hopefully an ERA under 4.00. thats all you can really expect, and thats definitely "serviceable".

That's my feeling. I grabbed him off the available pot for two of my three leagues - someone already had him in the other one - and so far, I'm damned glad I did. However, two great starts does not mean a stellar season. Good beginning, though!

i'd like to add colon (had him at one point, dropped him for hamilton) him but i'd have to drop lincecum, knowing someone would snatch him up. maybe i'm buying into the rookie hype too much, but i'd be kicking myself come end of may when timmay! is throwing lights out for someone else.

Colon not only looked sharp yesterday, he looked STRONG. He threw harder in the 7th (97 mph) than he did in the 1st, and was simply blowing guys away.

He's not far removed from being an upper echelon pitcher and is playing for a contract next year.

Remember, at the start of pring training everyone thought he would be back at the all-start break, then it was the end of May. It now looks like he'll have 3 starts in April. He could be a huge steal for guys that gambled on him.
