ANDREW MILLER UPDATE! :)

Postby KoopaTroopa » Tue Apr 17, 2007 10:01 am

"Left-hander Andrew Miller made the strongest of his three starts this season for Class A Lakeland on Monday night. He pitched eight innings and allowed no earned runs or walks. He lost, 1-0, to Ft. Myers on an unearned run."

Question:

When is this kid's first start for the 2007 season?!?! Durbin hasn't been pitching well. Zach Minor had 12.6 ERA, 1.1 IP 7 ER 2 nights ago in AAA.

Thoughts?

Well, his first 2 starts weren't the greatest in the world...
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

I agree. But are we going to see him before the all-star break (fill in for Durbin)? Are we going to see him later...September?

I am hoping for a Mid-May callup myself. I have him ratholed on my bench right now in a deep keeper league (we keep 12 - 10 owners). It is always tough to find a stud keeper pitcher, so I am hoping to get a taste of what he can do in the majors. The Tigers arent ones to wait on calling up their stud young pitchers (Verlander, Bonderman, Zumaya, etc...) so it wouldnt surprise me to see him early rather than later this year.

Well, he IS nearly 22 and in low-A ball, so I wouldn't really put any stock in his performance in Lakeland. When he moves up to AA in a month or so, then his performance will matter.

True, but I can't say the Tigers are exactly ecstatic with Durbin's 12ERA and 2.19WHIP... At some point, they have to at least consider getting someone else in there, whether it's Miller or someone else...

I think we will see Zach Minor before Miller to fill in for Durbin. But who knows?!?!

I'm hoping that Ledezma gets the first crack at the rotation after Durbin blows his next start.
