Both Theriot and Derosa are OF capable, though I don't think they have any true CF backups. I don't know if they'd call up Pie for just a short stint if that is what this is. Last thing you want is for him to come up, go 1 for 25 and go back down w busted confidence.

I was on a Cubs message board and numerous people said that ESPN 1000 radio said that the MRI results were negative and Soriano does not have a tear.

It's not a tear...it's a strain.

This article seems to give a more final readout of Soriano's MRI..

MRI results showed no serious damage to Soriano’s left hamstring, but he expects to be out of action from 7-10 days.
