I'll give it a try. These games are great for killing boredom.

Are countries randomly assigned or do we get to pick first-come first-serve?

Great response so far. (better than I expected)

We have 5 confirmed and 2 wait and see's.

What method do you guys want to use for communicating with each other? We could just use the PM feature here at the cafe, but I was thinking instant messenger would be better if we could get everyone to use it.

I was thinking we could let people choose which nation they want in a randomized order.

I used to play Diplomacy when I was in high school in the mid 80s. It's an awesome game, b/c of the group activities, if anyone starts winning, they tend to get ganged up on quickly. I will certainly watch if a game gets going but am not sure I would be e-timely enough to keep up w/ it... :-?

I don't have IM at work, so that would be tough for me.
