Chavez has been a "top 5 3B" for most of his career.

That is a reach and a half... :-b

You did the right thing!

Gagne has pitched 2 innings.....

The mets have the most explosive offense known to man at the moment! Wright will be MASHING soon enough! Gagne needs to show some worth.

We're still in April guys!!! Trading a late first round pick for two 15th round picks is simply not fair and should be vetoed. Why is this not obvious to everyone?

I've been saying that here for three years, some people just simply don't agree. I do though. Not that this is still an issue, this is an old thread.

Being that it is late April is precisely why this trade should NOT be vetoed. The only reason trades should be vetoed if there is obvious collusion involved. C'mon. Who is colluding in April?

You do not veto trades just because it is lopsided unless it equates roster dumping.

Well put! I agree. I have mentioned in other posts:

VETOES ARE FOR CHEATERS NOT DUMBIES!

Unless you have significant reason to believe that there is collusion or roster dumping here...then you should have let this go.

Buyer beware.

You can not legislate stupidity. Unless it's collusion, you let owners decide what they need for a trade, no matter how stupid. If I felt it was a roster dump or coluuding, then as commissioner I would intervene. I have a feeling you took so much grief because other owners may feel you will look upon their trades to closely also.

I've been a commish since 1987, so I have seen (and heard) it all.

If Wright continues to slump, then maybe no veto here will amount to "no harm, no foul," but in a league with adult players, there's just no reason on earth to trade Wright for those two players.

Like it or not, vetoes do police stupidity, it just doesn't happen almost ever in competitive leagues because no one is THAT stupid.

Im in a competitive 10 team league where Eric Chavez is currently on the waiver wire sitting next to the always injured Mr. Gagne. And anyone that thinks Gagne will be the closer in Texas this year is crazy. Id almost go as far as to say anyone that thinks he'll pitch in more than 30 games this year is crazy as well.

Then theres Wright who is the 3rd best 3B behind Arod and Mcab.

This is vetoable.
