Roster Help

Postby Riders » Sun Jan 04, 2004 9:21 pm

I'm new to the site, but have enjoyed it so far. I was needing some input on my roster. We are in the last year of a three year keeper league and have to be at or below $200 on draft day. So who would you drop or try to trade to strenghten my team?

C--Mike Lieberthal ($8)
C--Toby Hall ($5)
1B--Ryan Klesko ($19)
2B--Roberto Alomar($10)
3B--Tony Batista ($1)
SS--Orlando Cabrera ($1)
MI--Luis Rivas ($1)
CI--Robert Fick ($7)
OF--Shannon Stewart ($12)
OF--Ichiro ($37)
OF--Jacque Jones ($9)
OF--Jay Gibbons ($1)
OF--Pat Burrell ($8)
DH--Troy Glaus ($26)
P--Pedro Martinez ($28)
P--Josh Beckett ($12)
P--Derek Lowe ($15)
P--Tony Armas Jr. ($3)
P--Matt Morris ($12)
P--Kevin Brown ($11)
P--Eddie Guardado ($7)
P--???
P--???
I also have Kevin Millar ($10) that I need to put somewhere
My salary right now is $243
Obviously I'm dropping Fick and Guardado which will drop me $14, but I'm having a hard time after that. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Well, you've got to tell us some things first. Is your salary cap $260? Are you in a points, 4x4, 5x5, or HTH league? All these make a difference in who you should keep. Post these answers and I'll help you out.

Sorry, I meant to put that info in, but forgot. Our cap is $260 and it is a 5X5 league. Thanks for the reply and if I left anything else out, just let me know.

That's what I'd do with the team. You've got some great keepers, but cut the ones loose that are overprices, because even with draft inflation in your league, you should be able to find better deals.

The only thing I'd change to the above is give that *borderline* tag to Jacque Jones instead of Lieberthal.

Not bad. I'd make Alomar a definite cut though.
