And if a basketball fan, Double Dribble or Arch Rivals ;-D ;-D

Can't forget about the Tecmo Football series either for football.

New games pale in comparison IMO!!

GOD YES!!!!!!!

Arch Rivals was/is the greatest basketball game of all time.

Some others:

Hockey -- Blades of Steel, NES
Baseball -- World Series Baseball, Sega
Soccer -- World Cup, NES (The Russians are cheaters!!)

Agreed. The good old days. :-) ;-D

whatever the hardest is, that game is way to easy.

Maybe I suck at sports games or something, but I didn't find it easy to strikeout hitters or to hit home runs. :-?

striking out hitters is simple. just work the corners and the cold spots. hitting homers isnt that easy in mvp.

Well, what I should say is say is that you can strike out batters easily with certain pitchers. Barry Zito, for example, I think I struck out 18 with him once, but I only averaged 5.80 per 9 with Oswalt. That's because as much as I threw that curveball of his, it never struck anyone out. I only strike out about 4.50 per 9 with Hudson and Mulder.

I went through 3 cartridges of World Series Baseball because I wore them all out ;-D I think I played over a 1,000 full games on that thing. 22 K's with Kent Bottenfield, I'll never forget that game :-b

I think I have to go hook it up, this thread is bringing back some memories. K.G.J. for SNES was also awesome. It was actually hard to hit a fastball, and it was a simple game. I absolutely HATE moving around a circle or square to hit the ball better. Just aim, swing, and hit ;-)

BTW: NBA Jam was the best basketball game ever made. Unless you count Atari, in which case One-on-One was the best. Bird v/s The Doctor B-) And for hockey, Hat Trick for Atari was also pretty cool. When I look at those games now it's hard to belive I spent entire summers playing them.
