Yeah that movie wouldn't be near as good without Denzel playing Alonzo.

i may be mistaken, but i recall hearing more than once that their dialgoue in that scene was shot completely separate. doesn't make the scene any worse, but it would be cooler to know that they actually sat opposite each other.
Not true. I've seen the making of the scene on both the Special Edition Heat DVD and a seperate documentary and they filmed the scene together.
