Gallardo struck out 11, walked zero and allowed just three hits in seven shutout innings for Triple-A Nashville on Friday night to lower his ERA to 2.14 on the season.
Spin: Gallardo now has a 95:21 K:BB ratio in 67.1 innings pitched this year. He's also allowed just 43 hits and only one home run. A scout for an NL East team recently commented that he thought Gallardo is better than any starter the Brewers have right now.

Um, yeah it's time to get this kid up and let him loose on the NL.

Someone may want to remind the Brewers that they aren't a perennial powerhouse and that they're 3-7 in their last 10 while the Cards are starting to hit a little bit.

Obviously a joke. Just a guess: he'll be up within the next 2 weeks.

so let's say he does get called up and has one or two rough outings...would that help or hurt gallardo? would it break his confidence or would it show him what he needs to work on?

lincecum, for example, got rocked in his first outing but has been awesome since. if gallardo's ego is fragile, i'd rather sit him a few more weeks down in the minors and then pull him up for good at the ASB...

I see what your saying but couldnt he get rocked his first outing after the allstar break just as easily as he could right now. If his ego is fragile then its just fragile time wont change that but experience might.

Yeah I agree. It's getting to the point where they need to see what he can do on the big stage.

Interesting comment about the NL East scout saying he is the best starter the Brewers have. 8-o

i agree that he could get rocked at any time. my reasoning was that if he's just brought up for a spot start now and gets rocked, how would that affect him? if he gets called up at the ASB for good (and i stress, FOR GOOD), then there are no worries that a bad outing would send him back down.

anyway, bush has pitched well his last two outings so gallardo looks like he'll have to wait a few more weeks...
