Cores of the franchise

What players do you view as the core of the team that JP is goin build around? Players like Glaus and Thomas will most likely be gone when their contracts are up, but who do you think we should try to keep long term?

Halliday
Ryan
Hill

Those are the 5 I see us are core, anyone else I can see leaving or being replaced within the next couple of years. Lind looks like our DH of the future and if he pans out will be added to the core, but what other guys in the system or on the team do you see as part of the core or potential part of it?

Burnett, if he decides to stay after next year. Lind obviously. And League if he can fix the problems he's having.

I wonder if this has changed much at all... McGowan I would add to the list but for position players Wells, Rios, and Hill are the only ones I'd be pained to lose.

I'd probably add McGowan, Marcum, and Accardo.

It appears to be a foregone conclusion that Burnett will be gone after this year, and League still hasn't returned to his previous form (and he may never do so).
