Somebody needs to start acting like a poster and quit acting like Mini Mod Me.
Enjoy this record being broken or either don't enjoy it, but this is the 2nd thread you have gave us mods your modding opinion on something, try not to make it a 3rd.

MLB and Selig (who else thinks it's funny to see Bud squirm on TV especially when we all know this is his fault) were absolutely pathetic throughout this whole deal, their testing is a joke... Bonds' got the help of performance enhancing drugs, but he's not the only one who did in his era and he shouldn't be singled out.
I’m sorry but that seems like a cop out (nothing against you personally, or anyone else here) product of the the steroid era? Come on that all goes back to that saying you heard as a kid, if everyone jumped of a bridge would you too?
He's a product of his own stupidity and greed.

We realize that Barry wasn’t the first or last to cheat, it does not make it right or even really matter what other people did or do.

Yes, it does matter...especially when you are complaining that Barry is tarnishing records. Tarnishing what records? Records that were tarnished to begin with.
You say that "we" realize he wasn't the only cheater. Well, if that was true, wouldn't you be on Giambi's back a little more? How about Palmeiro? People forgot about him real quick, huh? Even McGwire and Sosa don't get near the aggression and hate that Bonds gets. And FORGET about bringing up guys like Aaron, Mays, Ruth and the rest of the baseball Gods. They could do no wrong.
Bottom line is...you're right...Bonds is not the only cheater. People, in general, need to stop acting like he is, though.

Good point. This thread is still very useful as a countdown to to 757 and so on!
So now it's not a countdown...it's a thread about the new record and to track how far he goes and sets the new one. There's still no reason to lock it.

He had to do whatever it took to be number 1. 33-49-73. how someone jumps 40 HR in a 3 year span is beyond comprehension and pretty much throws out the fact that he was clean. He still could have been sitting at 700 something homers though and that still would have been damn good.
Uhhh, perhaps by playing only 102 games in the season he hit 34 (not 33)?
By that logic, Brady Anderson is the biggest steroid user in baseball history.
