Calm down, he's not hurt (at least as far as I know), so let's not start with any of the dramatic posts about how sacred you were when you saw this post heading. That being said, this is a question for Cubs fans or anyone who has happenned to catch a few games this year.

Where has his power gone? Granted, it's only like 9 games into the season and it is still pretty cold out, but his power seems to be absent right now. I've been pretty busy lately, so I've only caught 4-5 regular season games and a handful of spring training games, but I can honestly say I haven't seen him really lay into a ball all year. If he had 0 home runs but had at least been driving a few deep flys or long doubles off the wall, I wouldn't be worried. But I haven't seen that at all this year. His best cuts are becoming routine fly outs. It's not like you can blame it on the fact that he's slumping, because he's hitting for good average and even extra-base hits (although like I said, they tend to be more splitting-the-gap doubles than hard hit balls off the wall).

I'm a little worried, I'll have to admit. I hope some people disagree with me, and have seen something that I have missed.

Except for Derrek Lee's 2005 season, he is generally a slow starter.

Thought he was raking the ball pretty good in Spring Training so I bet it's just a matter of time.
