Can't say for sure that there is nothing to worry about but I have him on my team and he started out pretty terribly last year as well.

As long as he stays healthy, the numbers will be there by season end.

you're right

he had 5.53 ERA, 1.72 WHIP in April 2006......but 38 k with 33ip


this year 11 BB, 10 K in 16ip

Yeah, his walk rate last year was terrible too. Ride it out.

(Of course, I'm saying the same thing about half my team right now! lol)

Didnt he have the most walks for a SP in the entire NL last year? Mightve been even the entire league

Even at his best, he walks batters:
Last season,
- one 1-hitter (2 BB)
- two 2-hitters (4 BB, 6 BB )
- two 3-hitters (4 BB, 4 BB)
Problem right now is, he's not at his best.

He's always had a tendency to blow up or hit a wall once in a while. His overall numbers have and will continue to speak for themselves. By mid season he'll be an all-star.
