Spell check not working again.
Personally I think Stokes will be OK. His stuff is not great, and he probably will not be with us in a few years if we want to be playoff bound, but he should be serviceable for us this year and next.

This is my point, why not get rid of the guys who you wouldn't want on a team that is playoff bound. Granted we don't have much, but i would rather have Orvella than anyone but Reyes in that pen

Well mainly because our future relievers and better pitchers are still in the minors and not quite ready for the bigs just yet. Most of our 2009 bullpen will come from guys that are in AA and A right now. We will just have to live with Stokes and some of these other guys until these kids are ready to make it to the bigs. Heck, who knows, we might find a guy that is in this very pen that is capable of getting righties or lefties out and stick with us in 08 and 09.
lets say that fossum, seo, and ejax can't keep their spots in the rotation and we have at the least 7 SP
then we end up with 7 SP and who knows how many guys competing for BP
1) Scott Kazmir
2) James Shields
3) Jeff Niemann
4) Mitch Talbot
5) Andy Sonanstine
6) Wade Davis
7) Jacob McGee
8) Jason Hammel
9) J.P. Howell
10) Edwin Jackson
11) Jae Kuk Ryu
12) Casey Fossum
13) Jae Seo
14) Tim Corcoran
15) Al Reyes ((if hes still around))
16) Gary Glover
17) Chad Orvella
18) Brian Stokes
19) Rudy Lugo
20) Shawn Camp
21) Juan Salas
22) Jon Switzer
23) Seth McClung
24) Scott Dohmann
25) Jeff Ridgway
26) Tony Peguero
so we have 26 pitchers and I'm probably missing some to take arond 13 MLB spots. I think we can pick and choose 13 guys from this group and find 13 servicable pitchers in 2 years but maybe thats just my opinion
