Bone spurs? You can play through these, but they dont go away, they continue to grow. Running hard gets painful. Eventually they do need surgery and iirc, it's a couple of months minimum recovery. I'm guessing its a question of whether he'll play through it again for another season and have the surgery in off season. And yes it could be one of those day on - day off things.

Hard to guess what will happen but I think we need to check out the backups. I'll wait for if he actually goes on DL since I have plenty of hitting elsewhere.

I read this morning that he'd "only" be out 4 weeks if he had surgery.

if he isn't playing it doesn't matter if he is DL or not.

plenty of sb punting savvy players have troy as their SS in Yahoo leagues, this really sucks.
