Say what you will about Prior, but most, if not all of his injury issues these last few years has to be blamed on Baker. He abused him. Young arms cannot withstand the kind of high pitch counts he subjected him to. As far as I am concerned, he ruined both Prior and Wood.

He proved it in 2003 that it was no overhype.
And he didnt fail. You just cant do anything about injuries. Noone can see that comin.
And if you enjoy seeing a someone getting injured and losing everything he likes in life, just because he is playing for a team that you hate, than you are a retarded.

Im a Cubs fan but you know what?
My two favorite players are Jim Edmonds and David Eckstein.
And they are playing on a team that I hate the most (Yankees doesnt count). Still I rute for them cause they represent what I like in baseball. They are players in their heart.
By the way Jeter is in my top 5 too.

I am not a fan of either the Cards or the Cubs.

What has happened to Prior is heart breaking in my book. He was the total package. He had electric stuff and knew how to pitch. He could work the count to get a strikeout. He could get a doubleplay ball when a man was on first. He was not just a thrower like WOOD. Maybe I bought into the 'hype', but to me, he looked to be destined for the HOF early in his career.

I am not sure that "overhyped" is the right word. I think that people just RECOGNIZED his insane talent.
