Hey, i'm a really avid fantasy player but its only been hockey and basketball the last couple years. Someone convinced me to try baseball out, my fav team 'the jays' is probaly the only team i actually know each and every player. So when you analyze my team keep that in mind, but just tell me how it is, if it sucks and i need to change stuff i'd like to know, instead of someone ermm ... being nice.
So here it is, btw drafted by yahoo rankings after the first 6 picks.
Fielding
C Víctor Martínez
1B Richie Sexson
2B Josh Barfield
3B Ryan Zimmerman
SS Felipe López
OF Carl Crawford
OF Vladimir Guerrero
OF Vernon Wells
Util Delmon Young
Util Rocco Baldelli
1B Mark Teixeira
2B Rickie Weeks
SS Michael Young
OF Jason Bay
Pitching
SP Ben Sheets
SP John Smoltz
RP J.J. Putz
RP Bobby Jenks
P Brett Myers
P Chad Cordero
1. If I read correctly, you have Teixeira, Weeks, Young, and Bay on your bench?
2. How many teams in this league?
3. First reaction, you need at least 3 more SPs.
Its a league with constant line changes, so for each particular day players are benched depending on if their playing. I need more starting pitchers for sure, but what i need to know is even the little things, like which players are worth keeping or which are worth dropping for promising ww pickups.
Thanks for all the replies, this is really helping me. What pitchers should i focus my trades towards?
If my questions are too open just say I don't mind doing research, but most top ten lists are not up to date and i think the real people that know what their talking about are usually in forums. i'm not a fan of asking all these questions, but i'm just a complete n00b when it comes to fantasy baseball.
The rest of my team is pretty rounded out?
and someone said i could win it all, that'd be sweet ... I had no idea i had that good an outfield.
It depends who you want to trade. Looking at your team, I would try and trade Lopez, Sexson, Wells, and Baldelli. These guys would rank in value as:
Wells
Sexson\Lopez
Baldelli
For Wells you could rope in a top starter (Santana aside). I would target Peavy or Halladay. For Sexson, Lopez and Baldelli, you could round up a second tier starter like Kazmir, Haren, or even some hyped-sleepers such as Hill.
