Solid team. I like your pitching alot. My suggestion, try to shop Gordon and Maine to get a good closer. Since this is a keeper league, someone will want Gordon for sure.

Are you sure you want to keep Liriano? Who knows how he'll do when he is back. Maybe trade him for a RP?!?

I like your team a lot, I definitely wouldnt call barfield a gaping hole. the only improvements i would suggest would be to try and upgrade from teahen at your util spot and maybe get some more sp depth. other than that looks good

Don't drop Barfield- he's better than K Matsui and Giles.

A move I would make is to add M Capps to back up your S Torres.
J Tracy has really been talking up Capps lately and a closer change could come soon is Torres continues to struggle.

Def keep Barfield, if you're that down on him, don't outright drop him, try to package him with a closer for an upgrade. Otherwise, your team is solid all around.

Looking at that team, it seems like a case where the right closer move might happen by attrition. As in, you'll get a lead in other categories, other teams will fall behind in particular categories, and teams will start to be forced to deal to catch up. I'd stand pat on RPs, watch the waiver wire and just keep trying to bait a top-tier RP for someone solid but certainly not unreplaceable via free agency. Teahen, maybe.

As for Barfield, by the way, I'm a big fan and think he's going to be much better than people expect. I'll grant I'm somewhat biased, but I think the Padres made a mistake in getting rid of him. (In other words, I definitely wouldn't drop Barfield for KazMat and there's not enough words to say how strongly I'd argue against dropping him for Giles.)

So:
I traded Kazmir for Weeks, a deal which I am very very pleased with as I have plenty of SPs, all whom are great. I also decided to stay put on RPs, though I dropped Barfield (due to the fact that I have Weeks, and that I needed to bench Teix and acquire a 1B in the meantime). I also added Duffy and dropped Greinke (sorry fanclub).

Thoughts?
