Which team has the longest (active) streak of seasons without a post-season appearance?

Good guess - the Tigers last showed up in the post-season in '87. That's not quite the longest dry spell, though...

I CAN'T REMEMBER THEM EVER BEING IN THE PLAYOFFS

Getting closer - the last time the Royals put on a cameo in the playoffs was 1985. Believe it or not, that's still not the longest dry run...

I don't know of any time that the Milwaukee Brewers have been in the playoffs since they started out as the Seattle Pilots. They've probably made it once or twice in all those years, but it's longer ago than I can remember. Certainly before 1985. Something tells me that this isn't their year, either.

"Once or twice" is right on the mark, and so is "before 1985." The Brew Crew only saw post-season action in 1981 and '82, when they lost a spectacular World Series against the Cardinals.

Those early '80s teams were very good and fun to watch, featuring players like Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, slugger Gorman Thomas and the always-entertaining Rollie Fingers. Since those glory days, however, the Brewers have been suffering the longets dry spell in the majors.

Good call! ;-D
