i used this type of analysis later on in the season last year and found it pretty helpful. The thing was it was after the all star break and most of the trends were pretty much in place for a lot of hitters. I was wondering about how long i should give before i start putting any faith into this years trends.
jermain dye is my number one concern as his fly balls are way up there and his line drives have fallen off the charts. im assuming his swings a bit out of touch?

nobody uses this type of analysis on their players?
perhaps take the traditional advice of waiting a month?

I think you answered your own question... wait at least a month, probably longer to analyze using any kind of sabermetric, or any stat for that matter. Right now Joe Credes batting .200 but a 4-4 game could boost him up to a respectable .294.... the same goes with gb/ld/fb analysis
