Jeter might be overrated by the general public, but I don't think he's overrated in baseball circles. He's one of the best offensive shortstops of all time.

possibly i do think that sometimes people go to far trying to find ways to prove he's overrated, but he is one of the worst defensive short stops of all time, and him protecting his 300 average this year by sitting out is not cool

I can generally overlook being a piss poor defender, if he's one of the best offensive players at his position in the modern history of the game. And I can barely stand the guy.
