Sexson or Konerko?

Both have the ability to be good. Both were hindered by injuries last season. Konerko hits for higher average, but Sexson hits for more power. Konerko has never had a good second half, but his last 2 first halves have been great. Who would you rather have? Sexson had the same back problem that kept Helton to only 28 HR last season. What do you guys think? I love Konerko, he's probably my favorite player, but im a huge sox fan and i dont want that to get in the way.

well it depends: if you already have guys that hit fo avg., get sexson
if you have guys with power already, get konerko

i personally like konerko better. i think he will step up to the plate this year and produce.

i had the same dilema all of last season, who to put in and who to bench. I gotta go with konerko this year

You can't ignore the fact that Konerko will have Thomas, who should be better, and Magglio around him. That alone should make you pick him over Sexson. You could also trade Konerko in july as well, if his 2nd half struggles are a trend.

i would go with Konerko as well. Sexson's average is a concern as are his massive strikoute totals and lineup. Konerko is a solid hitter with a good lineup and you can't forget that New Comisky or whatever they are going to call it now is an excellent hitter's park.

They are very close, # 8 and #9 at my rankings on http://www.fsworld.net but I would go with Konerko because he should get you better stats all around. Although if you just need some power numbers go with Sexson. For a season long decision, Konerko is your man.

I had a similar dilemma earlier this offseason. I had Konerko at $21 and traded him for Mike DeJean $4 and Randall Simon $10. I then traded David Ortiz $13 for Sexson $22.

I think Konerko is superior. He did have a bad 2nd half last year but this time he actually had a decent excuse of having a foot problem which inhibited his power.

He should top Sexson in R, RBI, AVG, and OBP

The tempting thing with Sexson is that he could hit 50+ HR someday. I wonder if he could develop into something like Thome?

I would go with Konerko. Better line up, batting 5th and a better average. Sexson lost some protection this year due to Hernandez leaving for Colorado. Jekins should be back but if he is not back who does Sexson have? Hammonds?

Go with Konerko and then trade him for Sexson at theAll-Star break .. lol

Seriously, Konerko is better all around and the Sox will be good!
