I am in a 12 team, 2 keepers, head to head, 5x5, yahoo league and we just drafted last night. There were 2 new teams added this draft and one team that lost a manager so his players were put into play. A total of 13 players were kept and I didn't keep anyone.
C C. Wilson
1B Helton
2B Michael Young
3B Chavez
SS Furcal
LF Stewart
CF Wilson
RF Mags
UTL Baldelli
SP Loaiza
SP Contreras
RP Foulke
RP Wagner
P Wickman
P B. Kim
P Wakefield
B B. Lawrence
B Jeff Weaver
B Jim Brower
B Edwin Jackson
B Grant Balfour

(I realize I am weak in starting pitching, with many guys that are risks. So instead of saying that input on how you think they will do this year is greatly appreciated.)

sorry..but your team looks a little weak. I don't see one 40 home run hitters on your team.. Helton might but hasn't in the last 2 years..

Time to get trading!

;-D

You have a lot of work cut out for you. I'd follow Trev's advice and get to trading as soon as possible. Also, scour the waiver wire and see who might have gotten overlooked. There has to be some better options.

You feel I need help across the board? Or are there certain positions you dont like the players I have? Also keep in mind Arod, Nomar, Tejeda, Vlad, Manny, V. Wells, Pujols, Beltran, Piazza, Boone, Soriano, Vazquez, and Prior were kept. While I missed the draft last year and therefore had to draft from the pool of players remaining after all the other 8 teams (at the time) had drafted.

C. Wilson and Loaiza jump out at me the most. I'd see if LeCroy is still availiable and drop Wilson for him. Then I'd trade Loaiza for two quality starters. I'm sure there is someone in the league that thinks he's a good pitcher. Find that guy and make a deal.

i'd also try and trade Preston wilson before he comes back down to reality. I'd go for a hitter like Andruw or Berkman who should both have better seasons then Preston..

I think LeCroy is available but don't you think hell be splitting time with Mauer? I have a projection from baseballnotebook.com that has Wilson having a solid year 25 hr, 80 Rbi. He probably wont be catching if they keep kendall but he should qualify as he started something like 23 games at cathcer last year. As for Loaiza I agree I usually hate guys like him but again I'm trusting baseballnotebook who has him with a sub 4 era and 179 ks. Im not sure if your familiar with bbnotebook but hes been dead on before and I trust him alot.

LeCroy will be DH'ing. ;-) No worries about the at bats. Wilson will hurt you in average.

As to Loaiza, 4+ era, 12 wins, best case scenario. Read any book you want and then take a look at his career stats. You will understand that he didn't learn one new pitch last year and "magically" became a solid pitcher. ;-) Most pitchers add new pitches each year without the same success.
