Does Marlon Byrd remind anyone else of a sleeping Vernon Wells? He strikes me as a player that could have a nice season this year, and be a real bargain come draft time.

He could be a nice late pickup. I wouldn't say Vernon Wells, he doesn't hit for power or RBI's like Wells does, but a marginal amount of SB's, some runs, and a good avg. is what you can expect.

Not even close to Wells! I think he may bat .300 with 15-20 homers but I don't see him doing Well's type damage.

i see him hitting .330 with a few homers but a ton of sbs

Since Byrd is over a year OLDER that Wells, it is unlikely he will be as good as Wells.

He would have to be very cheap for me to take a chance on him. He's got nice upside, but has to prove it to me first. ;-)

I also like the Phillies this year, they have a very good chance of winning the NL IMO, and might even be able to beat Boston or NY, whichever one wins the ALCS.

I think he just has the body type of Vernon Wells, I doubt he'll produce like Wells did last year.

A guy in my league bumped into him at a strip joint last season, and the next day he hit his first HR of the season, and second of his career. I guess that's his formula for success, LOL. Another guy was college buddies with Kevin Mench.......that's the only league I know of where Kevin Mench was actually drafted.
