If he is fully recovered as determined during spring training (and if he resumes stealing bases) he is one of the top 5 players in baseball.

run vlad run

Postby Brendo » Wed Dec 31, 2003 1:25 am

I have him as my first round keeper and I'm not sure I'll hold on to him

(in our league you keep guys in the order they were drafted, so I would lose my #1 pick this year to keep Vlad)

If I was confident he'd continue to run, he'd be a lock, but what's the feeling on what type of player he'll be????

Eventually all these guys stop running, it seems logical this would be that year for Vlad..........and if he only steals 5 bases...what does that do to his value????

not only that but he's still fairly young and hasn't bulked up like most power hitters are doing these days. I say he'll still be good for 30 sbs. He never was that fast anyway. Vlad is just an awesome base runner.

I have him and I'm playing it safe and assuming 20 sb's, anything more and that is just the little cherry on top of a sundae.

I was looking at his numbers from after he came back from his injuries last season and they were incredible, quite possilble the best stretch of his career. His steals may go down next season, but I wouldn't be surprised if everything else goes up to career highs.
