He's got the stuff, but a lack of control has always been his problem. I honestly think Duncan will turn this guy around, I think he's going to be a solid pitcher for us this season. Not Carpenter-like, but very good.

I agree. With Duncan teaching him and the Cards lineup giving him run support, I think he will show significant improvement this year. There will definitely be some bad games where the lack of control returns, but I think he'll have a very good year overall.
He has always had potential, but played on a bad team. I could see him as having a decent year. Even with just 2 starts, he has been a good value pick already.
Anything is possible, but this is a guy who has over 1000 MLB IPs and a WHIP of 1.50 to show for it. If I had to choose a candidate for the annual "crappy pitcher who starts out hot, suckers people in, and singlehandedly destoys WHIP and ERA roto categories" award, Kip Wells would be my man. Although after his nice game against the Nats today, Livan Hernandez may have something to say about this before all is said and done.

don't forget the perenial candidate for this position: Brett Tomko
