Ok, this makes some sense now. Looks like the Rangers are concerned about Mench being 100%:
Kevin Mench - OF - Texas Rangers Dec 28
Kevin Mench, who has struggled to come back from a broken wrist, expects to be fully cleared to return to baseball activities by Jan. 1. Mench didn't play winter ball because he wasn't 100 percent, and that's one of the reasons the Rangers plan to sign David Dellucci to compete for playing time in left field. Mench is still the far better bet for next season. Source: Dallas Morning News
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Ah yes, Kevin Mench. He probably broke his wrist when his monstrous head landed on it.
hes talkin about duchscherer but that deal woudnt happen anyway. youngs obp is horrible. besides, we already have a great young duo of ellis and crosby in the MI
The Rangers have good hitting and zero pitching...........
The A's have good pitching and zero hitting (not including Chavez) .......
I know it wouldn't make a lot of sense, but............
technically no, because the a's batters have probably the best eyes in the A.L. most of them are capable of doing damage but prefer just to get on base. and im certain ob % is a big part of batting. but the idea of arod, tex, and blalock in a Texas A's jersey intrigues me. my agent will call your agent

You must have read Moneyball.
I actually had not read it until just a couple of days ago (when a friend got it for me for Christmas). I read it over these last couple of days. Intriguing book.
