Who do you choose for your 5th selection...

5x5 Roto, 12 team, Keeper.

Have: Helton, Manny, Moose, Suzuki...

5th round selection is up...

Best available hitters:
Pudge
Sexson
Bagwell
Vidro
M. Giles
O. Cabrera
Lowell
C. Lee
A. Jones
Blalock

Best pitchers:
Santana
Colon
Nomo
Moyer
Pettitte
Wagner
Millwood

5th and 6th picks are on the short end of the snake so there are 7 picks between my 5th and 6th selection.

Thinking of grabbing best hitter then best pitcher. Opinions?

Thanks.

I'd take Wagner, then grab my second baseman (Giles, Vidro)

I'd go with Pudge, then Blalock or a 2B.

That sounds pretty good to me. (Check out my 5th round picks in the keeper mock draft II forum :-D )

You might also consider grabbing Santana.

Pudge. There'll be closers around when you pick next, but a solid catcher?

Solidify that offense with Bagwell if you play 1b 1st/3rd and utility. With Helton, Ramirez and Bags you should have a nice foundation and allow you to take a chance on some guys like Reyes, Lecroy in specialty positions later in the draft that might be good keepers. Bagwell is not a great keeper though, so it really depends on how many guys you keep year to year and if you are counting on keeping your 5th choice.

Jones and Carlos Lee might be nice keeper pick ups and pretty darn good players right now too.

Closers may be the best thing ever, but I just personally believe in grabbing the Kolbs, Borowskis, Lidges, Rhodes, even Lance Carters of the world at the end of the draft.
