All time best fantasy season

Postby cardinals15 » Mon Dec 29, 2003 6:22 pm

This has probably been talked about a bunch of times, but how about a few of the best all time fantasy seasons of the post 1950's era and a draft list of all time greats coming off of career years i.e.
similar to the question where would Rickey Henderson get drafted off of his best year?

Some of the years I can remember as potential 1 picks all time:

1985 Gooden 1.53 era 24 wins 268 k's

1988 Jose Conseco 42 hr 40 sb .307 142 rbi

1998 Sosa 66 hr 18 sb .308 158 rbi

1997 Pedro

etc.

1985: .314/.419/.516, 146 Runs, 172 hits, 28 doubles, 24 HRs, 72 RBIs, 80 SB, 99 BBs

Ricky Henderson a lot of balance in every catergory.

Didn't we go over this a while ago? With Old Hoss Radbourn leading the league in saves with 1, and with 60 some-odd wins?

I'll go with 1978 Ron Guidry:

25-3, 16 CG, 9 SO, 248 K, 72 BB, 1.74 ERA, and 0.95 WHIP.

And for Hootie, an ERA+ of 208.

was that 85 season goodens rookie season? if so, which i believe it was, then that has got to be no.1, for a pitcher at the very least.
