Closers Losing Their Role

Postby The Raging Inferno » Sun Apr 08, 2007 10:07 am

Has anyone heard of anything about any closers who's job is on the line; because there have been several blown saves early on.

Lidge keeps getting votes of confidence, but I'd think it's only a matter of time before he gets yanked if he keeps up this level of performance.

Other than that, all is kind of quiet on the closers-in-jeopardy front. I'd keep an eye on the Dempster situation in Chicago, though.

A couple of good sources of cheap saves if you haven't snatched 'em up already are Salomon Torres & David Weathers.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
