Some play very deep leagues.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Agreed, this may be the end of Cory Lidle. Did they hire him as a pitching coach? That's what they could really use. They could also use a decent manager, some better hitters, a better rotation, some strong middle releif and a closer. Man, who would want to go to that sorry team. BRING BACK MARGE SHOTT!!!!!!
Since super studs Shane Reynolds and Steve Sparks were already snatched up by the mighty Diamondbacks I guess this was the best the Reds could do.
BTW: Don Gullett is one of the best pitching coaches in the league, his past success getting career years out of the likes of Pete Schourek, Pete Harnisch, Kent Merker, Jimmy Haynes, Elmer Dessens and others made Bowden think he could get away with going cheap on pitching and it back-fired on him bigtime. What the Reds really need is ownership that will spend some money on pitching. I think they'll play better for Miley. Hopefully new batting coach Chris Chambliss can get Dunn on track and --please God-- if Griffey and Kearns can stay healthy they'll be competitive.
Lidle is a decent pick-up for the Reds. Reitsma led the staff in wins with 9 last year so there's no where to go but up for the rotation. With Claussen, Harang, Wilson, Lidle, Acevedo, Haynes and some other young guys at least they'll have some competition for rotation spots this spring.
The bullpen will be just fine with Graves, Wagner, Reitsma, Reidling and possibly Scott Saurbeck.
Oh good point. I love the Reds pen, I was flapping about them about a month ago. If Claussen, Harang, Wilson, Lidle, Acevedo, Haynes can get through the 6th .. the Reds might be OK. I'd still like to Wagner start though. stick him in AAA for the summer and see what he does.
England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.
If I had to pick out of those three, I'd go with Glavine.
