Back in the day of one-ump-per-game, Tim Hurst once called a runner out at home for exactly that reason. :-D

i used to love rickey until i went to a cards padres game about 7 years ago and watched rickey steal 3rd in the 9th inning with a 12-1 lead. wonder how he got to no.1 steals ever....... :-?

I remember watching Nolan Ryan toss a no-hitter on that same day, and it was almost if he did it just to steal Rickey's thunder. Classic.

Ricky wouldn't be realistically stealing 80 in this day in age. Too many squads playing for the 3 run HR -- and more and more ballparks being built towards that.

If Ricky was hitting around .300 stealing 50+ bags, jacking 20 HR's, scoring 120+ runs. No doubt a top 3 pick.

Rickey was one in million. He was at least interesting. Now we are stuck with bland, boring, metrosexual ball players like A-Rod. :-P

If Juan Pierre can steal 65 bases today, Rickey could easily steal 80. ;-D
