You only called me out because I'm so fast, you couldn't see me

Back in the day of one-ump-per-game, Tim Hurst once called a runner out at home for exactly that reason. :-D

"It gave me no chance. He just blew it by me. But its an honor. I'll have another paragraph in all the baseball books. I'm already in the books three or four times."

"Lou Brock was a great base stealer but today I am the greatest."

I remember watching Nolan Ryan toss a no-hitter on that same day, and it was almost if he did it just to steal Rickey's thunder. Classic.

Ricky wouldn't be realistically stealing 80 in this day in age. Too many squads playing for the 3 run HR -- and more and more ballparks being built towards that.

If Ricky was hitting around .300 stealing 50+ bags, jacking 20 HR's, scoring 120+ runs. No doubt a top 3 pick.

Rickey was one in million. He was at least interesting. Now we are stuck with bland, boring, metrosexual ball players like A-Rod. :-P The game isn't the same without some characters.

If Juan Pierre can steal 65 bases today, Rickey could easily steal 80. ;-D
