Who are you to say Ricky isn't in Ricky's prime? Ricky knows what Ricky can do and Ricky says Ricky is still in Ricky's prime. :-)

i HAVE NEVER BEEN A FAN OF RICKEY HENDERSON, THE PERSON, JUST AS I AM NOT A BARRY BONDS FAN.

BUT ON THE FIELD I HAVE TO GIVE BOTH THEIR DUE.

HENDERSON IN HIS PRIME WOULD BE AT LEAST THE 3RD OR 4TH OVERALL PICK

The most games he played was 158 in his Rookie season. Yes..he had 100sbs but he had 8 homers and 53 rbis. I'd take him about the 6th round.

I played when Rickey was in his prime. He went 1 or 2 in the drafts. Him, Canseco, Sandberg were the top players late 80's. Rickey stole over 80 6 times, bashed 28 hrs twice. He was pure gold. In a 4x4 he was the man.

If ricky was playing today I would draft him because to quote Ricky "Ricky's physical condition is in great physical condition" Dont know exactly what that means but Ricky said it so it must be good. :-D

Oh so humble was the man named Rickey

Postby Kwaziwampo » Tue Dec 30, 2003 6:17 am

Mattingly on Rickey:

"Has he ever been here (Spring Training) the first day? You have to say Rickey's (Henderson) consistent. That's what you want in a ballplayer - consistency." - Don Mattingly

And of course a great moment for baseball...Rickey on Rickey:

"Lou Brock was a great base stealer but today I am the greatest."

Rickey on this issues:

Red Sox outfielder Rickey Henderson, commenting on Ken Caminiti’s claim in lat week’s Sports Illustrated that 50% of major leaguers use steroids: “Well, I’m not one of them, so that’s 49 percent right there.”

Rickey on money:

All I'm asking for is what I want!

Now I ask you...no, I beseige you...how can one not take that man number one in his prime?

I leave you now with a quote Rickey should have said...the illustrious Chuck E. Carr speaking to an ump after getting thrown out at 2nd...

You only called me out because I'm so fast, you couldn't see me
