Take out his W-L (which is the one thing pitchers can't control, due to run support and errors) and he's got some nice stats.

Career minor league stats:
2.34 ERA, 179 K, 12.7 K/9, 3.5/1 K/BB ratio, 1.06 WHIP
His W-L record was skewed because 1/4 of the runs he gave up were unearned. For a 19-year-old, that's pretty good.

Very true. But he's still got some great potential. What can I say, he's a freak.

SWARMEE Nice list and info. I would like to add 3 biggies,

C Jeff Mathis ANA a poor mans Mauer, better power.
Sp Edwin Jackson LA should make a big run at roy.
Sp Greg Miller LA he's moved ahead of Kazmir, him or Greinke probably best 2 arm prospects in minors.
Not sure Estrada at 27 is much of a prospect.

I think Huber is overrated as well.

Well, I still think Estrada will be a good player if someone will give him the starting job and be happy about it. I didn't list many pitchers, mainly because I couldn't find the baseballamerica pitchers listing while I was compiling this short list. Those two are definite phenoms. More guys to look out for:
Franklyn Gutierrez
James Loney
Stephen Smitherman (ton of homers and K's, a la Dunn)
Chase Utley
Ryan Madson
Chin-Hui Tsao

He IS the Braves starting catcher and I think the braves are pretty comfortable with him...

I think he'll be unfairly short-leashed by that trade with Saint Louis for Marrero/Drew. If he has a two-week slump, I could see him riding the pine until Marrero does the same.

yes swinger ...very useful stuff there.. ;-D

Here's my suggestion: go to baseballamerica.com and sign-up online for their Minor League daily wrap-up. But here's some of my picks as top minor leagues to look for next year:
MIN C Mauer (already handed the starting job)
AZ 3B Tracy
ATL C Estrada (now has the guy from the Cardinals trade in front of him)
AZ 2B Hairston
MIL 2B Weeks
TOR OF Rios
PIT(?) OF Bay
OAK SS Crosby
SD SS Greene
STL SP Wainwright (may be the Brandon Webb of 2004)
SEA P Soriano

People to grab for the future:
Prince Fielder
Andy Marte
Casey Kotchmann
Justin Huber (will be Piazza's heir at C for NYM)
David Wright
Delmon Young
Jeff Francoeur
BJ Upton
Josh Barfield
Gavin Floyd
Sean Burnett
John VanBenschoten
Zach Grienke
Taylor Buchholz

thats a solid list ... not sure I would be to interested in Estrada though

A solid pick, but if Tracy makes a splash in '04 look for it to be in the outfield. The D-backs have made it known they are satisfied with Hillenbrand at third and plan on extending his contract. Therefore, Tracy had been getting time in the outfield this past offseason before he suffered an injury.

didn't he ask for the move to the OF? he would be a much better option than Bautista ... well worth keeping an eye on in the spring.

maybe if he got hurt. I'm hoping for a Scenerio where they put chipper back on 3rd and move marrero to the OF...

that would be cool.
