haha iwamura was the man last night. 4-4 HR, 3R his productivity is lookin real good. i hate when first rounders are all over-hyped. gets people excited for disappointment. Gordon better have a better week this week or i might as well hit up wigginton from TB :-B

It said in the KC Star that Bell thinks he is pressing so it was probably to get him to relax and not press at the plate or in the field

i knew from the start, with so much hype theres only one way to go and that is down. im about to drop him, there is no reason to have him on your team if its non-keeper, 3B is pretty deep this year in talent.

Name them. 3rd base isn't that deep. After the first 5 it drops off and Gordon is as good as any of the rest to at least have on your bench. Unless you are playing in an 8 team league he's worth a bench spot until things become hopeless.

The OP asked if there was a reason he didn't play and it's really not much more than: they were facing a Lefthanded pitcher AND it's week 1 of the season so you try to squeeze a little playing time for everyone AND German has been hot lately AND Alex was cold.

Who else has been given days off on the Royals in week 1? Sweeney, Teahan, Shealy, Emil, Grudz.

Who else has been cold in week 1 for KC? Heading into yesterday, Gordon had more hits than Shealy and 1 less than Sweeney.

Why are Gordon and other Royals' bats cold? Schilling, Dice K, Verlander, Becket.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday they scored 5 runs. It's a lot more than Gordon.

So mix in "week 1" and "need to get everybody in the lineup a bit" and "pretty damn good pitchers faced this week" and you end up with a rookie getting an off day on Saturday while facing a LH pitcher.

Try to put some context on things and you'll avoid the clown responses.

as long as its not keeper i would drop him. But keep an eye on him cause he will catch fire and get the hang of thigns sometime in the season.
