It seems to me that this kid is getting no respect.
His line from 53 games last year is respectable, including 13sb and a 328 avg.
He looks to be the super utility infielder AND outfielder for the Cubs this year, and could see quite a few at bats.
I am not saying he is worth a spot in a 12 team league, but in a deep league or NL only, I think he has value for his position eligibility (should have ss, 2b and OF soon) and for his speed.
I am unable to find anything positive about Theriot on the web (including the Cafe) , and I am basically looking to be convinced that I should pick this kid up as a solid bench player in a 20 team daily changes league.
Any help appreciated.

Theriot success makes one wonder why the Cubs went out and signed Mark DeRosa. Ryan looked pretty impressive and wasn't even given a chance to play. Given Lou Pinella's history I think it's only a matter of time before he gets an opportunity. Sweet lou was singing his praises all spring.

I say give the kid another year and he should be a viable fantasy option. Unless the cubbies are totally out of it this season he could see some major time.
Don't you guys love his name?
I bet he's The Riot of the clubhouse

His nickname is actually Theriot the Chariot.
I prefer The Riot myself, but either is pretty damn cool

I like this kid
I think he has good sb potential and some pop in his bat.
an injury anywhere on the field except P and C could open things up for him.

Came in as a pinch runner for Cliff Floyd, scored on a nice slide to avoid the tag, and walked in his AB.
2 appearances at OF now as defensive replacement for Floyd
