There are several teams that have an EXTREMELY tough heart of the order. However, which one team has the best H.O.T.O. remains to be seen. Many will say the Yankees and leave it at that, but is it really the Yankes? Here are my top 10 in order:
1. Mets
2. Cubs
3. Indians
4. Yankees
5. Philadelphia
6. Red Sox
7. White Sox
8. Blue Jays
9. Twins
10. Rockies
The Devil Rays are also emerging with Crawford, Young & Dukes.
I voted for the Twins. Mauer, Cuddyer, Morneau, and Hunter is money. And let's not forget about the piranhas, so they is a good chance of having people on base. Hunter is in interesting batter. He's like that guy at the poker table that bets super aggressive. He's likely not to win all that often (.270 BA) but he's not afraid to take a swing and hit you hard (30+ HR). I hate running into guys like that.
This poll should be changed to "Best 3 Hitters On A Team" not "Best Heart of The Order". Heart of the order means the 3, 4, 5 hitters, the guys in the middle, not lead off guys, or number 2 hitters.
For example, Reyes, Jeter and Rollins aren't in the "Heart of the Order" for their teams. They are in the top of the order.
The Yankees Heart is Abreu, Arod, Matsui.
The Mets is Beltran, Wright, Delgado.
You got Boston right.
The two Jones' and McCann should be up there.
