Depending on what kind of team you have and whether it's a keeper league. If you need impact players in a keeper league I'd take a chance with him in the sixth. If you are already loaded I'd still take him in the eighth. Of course, I like him more than most so maybe you should listen to those more moderate on him. Also, I have no clue how good he'll be next season, but I'll guess at the minimum you are looking at about .275-25-90, which isn't bad. At max, though, if he takes the jump which could happen at any time it could be .300+, 35+, 110+. I think the kid could be as good as he wants to be.

He does have the potential to land the award in his career though.
Madison and I agree again, for the 4th time!
Lol.
Guys, as to what round he should go in, it depends on how the drafts go. I can't sit here and say take him in the ??? round because every draft is different. Runs at positions will change the scope of the draft. Is everyone drafting pitching or is everyone ignoring it? Was there a closer run? Who's still left? Way too many factors to say exactly what round a player should go in unless he's a first or second rounder and Tex isn't at that level yet.

In normal situations I'd agree with Madison, but Teixeira's not going to go according to normal draft order. Someone will take him earlier than any projection would dictate, so you got to beat them to the punch if you want them. Chances are, if you wait to pick him a round after your gut tells you you should you'll probably lose him
I've been trying to trade for him all winter with no luck. I'd have to trade a top 30 player to get him and I'm not willing to do that.

Exactly. It's going to be a gut decision on when to take him. Once your draft gets going, you should feel the flow, and have an idea of when to get him.
Good luck landing him in your keeper Erboes. His price is pretty high in both of my keepers as well, and no, I don't have him.

I'm sitting pretty with Teix this season. I have him as a keeper for $2 in an auction league. My pitching sucks, so I'm thinking I may be able to trade him at the break for some good pitching. Our league only allows us to keep a player for two season, so I have to give him up at the end of the season anyway.

It also depends on his spring training performance. This past spring he hit .322, 7 HRs, 19 RBIs in only 27 games. Obviously, he didn't do as well during the regular season.
