I just realized the mistake I made !!
I saw this in The Historical Baseball Abstract by Bill James pg 199.
The streak ended on 7/17/41. During WWII each number that was picked for the draft belonged to one person. That day number 90 was selected and that number belonged to a 21 year old kid named Joe DiMaggio.
I didn't realize it until just now, but this was a coincendence that there was somebody ELSE named Joe Dimaggio - and he got drafted that day not the Yankee DiMaggio.
My bad guys - but in hindsight it might be even more interesting than the original triva question.
Sorry about the confusion.

Now that's an interesting coincidence. Eh, no worries.
