Any thoughts on when and where he will sign? I took him late in the draft hoping he would pan out. Is he worth a roster spot?

July at the earliest; likely Houston, maybe New York, doubtful Boston.

If the Yankees dominate, he'll pitch for them. If you Houston makes a push for the post season, he'll probably go with them... He wants another ring.
If you're a battery, you're either working or you're dead....

Depends on your league size, and how deep of a bench you have, as well as how you use it.

sigh, i hate to put a team question in this forum, so i'll try to generalize since there are a couple of leagues i'm in where he is available. but just for the general public's consumption how about 10 team standard scoring leagues with 21 roster spots. in general would it be a smart idea to go, say 2-1 and roster him, or to drop a nominal player and roster him, or are 10-12 team leagues too shallow to be doing that and the players on FA too good?

I'd say even in a 10-team league he's worth a pickup. However, it all depends on whether you have a bench spot you feel you can burn.
