DIAMOND GURU BASEBALL LEAGUE CONSTITUTION
The Diamond Guru Baseball League runs on Yahoo! Software and begins play in April 2004. The league will be a basic private Yahoo! League.
Ryan Fay is the commish and Michael Gindes is the vice commish. Contact me at mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org and Mike at mailto:email@example.com
There will be 20 teams in the league.
LEAGUE TYPE / OFFSEASONS
We’re an “ultimate holdover” league, where all players owned at the end of a given season by a given team are retained for the following season. However, you can trade and add/drop players during the offseason, but your total heading into the following season must be 30.
Our draft will be done over several week beginning January 12th, 2004 via e-mail. There will be 30 rounds, to ensure each team has 30 players. Each time has eight hours to pick, and if they won’t be around, leave a queue with Mike Gindes or I and we will announce it as soon as we get it.
Each roster consists of 30 players. There will be DL spots if Yahoo! Allows them.
There will be no limit on free agent/waiver adds and drops and no limit on trades. Each player will have two days to pass through waivers, and each trade has one day to be blocked by the league. Half of the league – 10 owners – will be needed to object. The trade deadline will be in late July or early August, depending on what options are presented by Yahoo in the spring.
There will be two-day waiting period while players are waived. Order is based on last claim. For instance, if you make a claim for a player and get it, you will then be last in priority and everyone else moves up.
At the beginning of the Fantasy Baseball season, Yahoo! Sports placed all players into positions based on information from official rosters. Some players appear in multiple position lists and are eligible to fill any of those positions.
If a position player makes 15 appearances at a new position during the season, he will become eligible to play that position in Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Baseball.
Pitchers need to make three starts to become eligible as a starter, and five relief appearances to qualify as a reliever.
GAME / INNING LIMITS
There are no limits on game starts or innings.
There will be 20 rounds in snake format. 1-10, 10-1, 1-10, etc. A preseason roll of dice online will determine draft position.
We will use fantasy point scoring.
