Rich Hill got a blister!

News: Cubs LHP Rich Hill cut a minor league pitching session short Sunday because of a blister on a finger on his pitching hand. He was scheduled to throw 60 pitches and cut it after 15 (plus 30 in the bullpen before the game). He said the injury was minor and would not prevent him from making Friday's start against Milwaukee.

Well while it may not prevent him from making his first start, a blister for a pitcher is never a good thing. Hopefully it is not a lingering issue, but this is definitely not good news to start the season for Rich Hill.

He's already in my lineup (weekly changes) so there's no turning back now...but if given the option, I'd bench him.

Rich Hill wasn't bothered by the blister on his middle finger during a bullpen session on Wednesday.
''It took care of itself. It's fine,'' said Hill, who didn't throw at all Monday and played catch briefly Tuesday. ''I feel great. I'm ready to go Friday.'' The blister cut short Hill's final spring training start on Sunday.
