This was an email that I received today from Harry Caray's restaurant.

The infamous "Bartman Ball" was purchased by Harry Caray's Restaurant in Chicago
and will be destroyed on Thursday, February 26th, 2004 (during the 6th Annual
Worldwide Toast to Harry Caray) in order to end the Cubs curse.

We'd like your help in determining how we should destroy the ball. If you are
interested in submitting your idea, please visit our website at
http://www.harrycarays.com. Feel free to share your craziest idea with us! Cub fan
and Academy Award special effects winner and six-time nominee Michael Lantieri
("Jurassic Park", "Back to the Future", "Seabiscuit", etc.) has donated his
services to potentially create a video using special effects featuring some of
these creative ideas. We have listed the top 10 ideas on our website and we will
continuously update them until our panel of judges determines the final fate of
the ball. We will select the top 3 best ideas and have them be a part of the
ball destruction.

Harry Caray's goal is to raise $1,000,000 for the following two charities in
honor of ending the curse: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (in honor of
Cubs great Ron Santo)and Maryville Academy (Harry's favorite charity). If you
would like to support ending the curse, please make checks payable to one of the
official charities listed above and mail to Harry Caray's Restaurant ("End the
Cubs Curse", 33 West Kinzie Street, Chicago, IL 60610) or mail to the charity
itself.

Yep, should be interesting to see how they decide to destroy it. I can only imagine what the fans will come up with. 8-o

I think they should grind the ball up and feed it to a goat. Then the goat can be slaughtered and grilled up and served at the restaurant! :-D

PETA would probably have a field day with that one though.

I think this is a very weird thing that happened. Hate to say it bluntly but......i think it shows a poor example of Chicago and its fans. Because personally Im a diehard, but Im not crazy enought to feeda baseball lobster and give it a massage......just plain weird

They guy who bought it made a ton of money for a charity, which is good, but probably also made a ton of money for himself and Harry Caray's where he's the GM. I'm totally torn on this subject.
