Felipe Lopez MAY NOT get 2B eligiblity (Guzman to DL)

Postby Another Blown Save » Mon Apr 02, 2007 7:49 pm

Rotoworld wrote:The Nationals feel Cristian Guzman's hamstring problem is more serious than the ankle injury suffered by Nook Logan on Monday.
Manager Manny Acta said that if Guzman is out for "a long period of time," then Felipe Lopez would shift back from second base to shortstop and Ronnie Belliard would play second. If it's just going to be a day-to-day thing, the Nationals will go with Josh Wilson at shortstop, a scenario that Lopez prefers. "I'm playing second. I don't want to switch. I don't want to start all over again," Lopez said. "If I have to, if they ask me -- but right now I want to stay at second. ... I've already got my mind set and got our game plan. I'm comfortable now."

Just a heads up to any Felipe owners.

i think everyone saw this one coming. guzman hasn't been healthy for years and it was bound to happen, although opening day is a bit quick.

:~(

i dont really need him there, my MI is Lopez and Iguchi, but i would have liked the flexibility of him at 2B and i could then trade for a SS who's a better than Iguchi at 2B

5 starts in Yahoo is all he needs. Didn't see anything to indicate that a change would happen before the 6th game of the season.

Figured as much...though he was just backup to Cano...I wanted that flexibility and would make him more valuable as trade bait.
